Well, it's adventure Monday, and I had an adventure recently. Saturday we went sledding on sleds that we rented from the SUU Outdoor Center. The sleds are called Airboards, and they are super fun.
Above is Jared launching off of a jump. I don't know if you can see where he is going to land, but he has a lot to drop before he does. The Airboards provide a surprisingly soft landing.
Oh Laura, It's Adventure Monday, not Little Mermaid Monday.

free sledding for free
Today I was linked-in with Whitney Philips, who is the President
at
Mad River Rocket Co. Inc. Mad River Rocket makes sleds. Years ago I was contacted by Whitney and he told me that he would give me free sleds if I were to continue to make sledding videos. He did, and it's been great. These aren't your normal sleds, these are more of a free style sled. Here is one of the montages we did for him.

I love sledding, I started from when I was small.
We would go in my back yard. There is a lot of the montage above that was even shot in my back yard.
In the winter of 2008/09, the enemy of sledding, snowmen, invaded my back yard, so I went all Jason Bourne on them.
The end of the Kayaking season starts the mountain biking season, which will hold me over until the sledding season.

Thinking about doing stuff
The spring before I left on my mission, I ran my favorite run of my life. Timpoweap Canyon. It's was a series of small cascading waterfalls. Here are some pictures.
This is what I'm looking forward to for the spring. For now I will put my Kayak in the tub and sit in it while I watch kayaking videos. During the helmet camera scenes of the videos, I will move my kayak paddle in a paddling motion. It will be my simulation.

That's how I roll (out of bed)
It's 10:30 am, and I am just waking up. What a lame way to start adventure Monday. I would like to take a bit of this post to explain the title of my blog because it fits with the theme of adventure Monday.
I like kayaking. When you flip over in a kayak, the move to flip you back up is called a "roll." Make sense?
I teach the kayak clinics here at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. I am also the President of the kayak club. This is our club T-Shirt design.
After watching some of the people in the clinics last time, I think a more accurate design would be this one.
Man I love kayaking. Look how much fun this guy is having.
Hopefully Jared gets home soon so that we can go celebrate adventure Monday together. Sometimes he gets sleepy though, and he needs a nap. If he doesn't get his nap, he gets grumpy.
